What is a Virtual Assistant, and how can we help make your business a success?

Wheel of Benefits of VA Support in 4 sections

After several networking conversations recently, I reflected that whilst the concept of a Virtual

Assistant (VA) is second nature to me, it might not be as clear to others. Questions like “What

exactly does a VA do?” or “How is a VA different from a traditional Executive or Personal

Assistant?” are common, especially as the landscape of virtual support continues to grow and

evolve.

So, what is a Virtual Assistant?

Essentially, we are self-employed professionals who provide high-quality EA/PA, business

administration, and operational support services.

Most of us work remotely, offering flexibility to those who don’t need full-time, in-house support.

However, some VAs also provide on-site assistance when required.

Who do we work with, and how?

Our clients vary widely, reflecting the versatility of our industry.

Corporate Professionals:

Many of us with corporate backgrounds work with CEOs, Executives, and Non-Executive

Directors, offering retainer-based services such as diary management and inbox support.

Small Businesses and Charities:

We collaborate with coaches, trainers, and organisations in many different fields.

Neurodivergent Business Owners:

Due to demand, many VAs now specialise in supporting neurodivergent entrepreneurs, tailoring

services to their unique needs.

Additionally, some of us niche in areas such as tech, social media, or marketing support and

others have built VA agencies, providing services to larger businesses, demonstrating the

scalability of our profession.

What are the benefits of hiring a VA?

Not only do VAs provide professional and reliable support, but we also act as a trusted sounding board for our clients. We listen, brainstorm, and often help solve problems, making us an invaluable partner in business.

Unlike full-time employed EAs or PAs, VAs offer flexibility where many businesses need it and

you can work with us a few hours per week, on a monthly retainer, or for one-off projects.

You only pay for the time you use — no tax, National Insurance, or pension obligations.

However, although we are independent contractors, our goal is to build long lasting partnerships.

Your success is our success!

If your business could use a trusted partner to take on administrative or operational demands,

please do consider a Virtual Assistant. We can provide the flexibility and expertise you need to

build the business you want.
